· Covered Bridge

This one of a kind bridge was built by David Blankenship on two steel beams bent in a radius.

It was constructed of green pine lumber sawn on location from the Rassawek Sawmill. The lumber was then bent to the shape of the beams using jacks and chains. The slate roof on top of the bridge was derived from a demolished rest stop in New Kent county.

The covered bridge lends a unique charm to Rassawek. The bridge leads up to one of our sawmills and our shop barn building.
